Swaralaya - Tampa FL : P Unnikrishnan Concert 16th APR 2002

Unnikrishnan's concert lasted for 31/2 hours. He stared off with the Viriboni Varnam and following it rendered a few songs. He warmed up when he took up Sankarabaranam and the majestic composition of Muthuswami Dikshatar " Akshayalinga Vibho". The RTP in Simmendra madhyamam was rendered in full flourish. The vachaspathi song Kantachumidi.okabari was rendered very well. He sang many thukkadas at the request of the audience and they were very pleasing. He was accompanied by Varadarajan on the violin and Srimushnam Raja Rao on the mridangam. Both the supporting artists
did full justice. On the whole it turned out to be an enjoyable concert.
